Backstory
At twelve, Mara touched her grandmother's deathbed and lived every moment of the old woman's life in one scream. She spent twenty years turning that curse into a career - the Archive grew vast, and dangerous. She hunts killers by reading what they left behind. She punishes them with it.

Gaunt woman, late thirties, sharp cheekbones, color-shifting irises. Charcoal peacoat, dark practical clothes, hands always bare. A silver chain disappears beneath her collar.
